Julie SloanJulie Sloan is widely regarded as Australia’s leading Workforce Planning practitioner. Passionate about workforce planning, Julie leads the development of the discipline in Australia. Julie believes few companies recognise the challenges ahead in retaining and attracting the required workforce. She says those who apply quality workforce planning processes and techniques will be significantly advantaged when ‘crunch time’ comes i.e. when workforce exits exceed the incoming workforce.

 

Internationally Julie has worked in the United Nations, Centre for Social Development and Humanitarian Affairs, in the International Atomic Energy Agency and at the International Council on Social Welfare. In Australia she has worked for the Commonwealth Government, the Government of South Australia, various not-for-profit sector organisations and for the last 10 years in the private sector. Her workforce planning methods have been applied in numerous Australian industries and sectors.

 

Julie authored the first ‘Guidelines on Workforce Planning’ for Standards Australia launched in April 2008.

 

Julie regularly presents as keynote speaker on the topic of workforce planning at Australian and international industry conferences and business forums and is well regarded for her ability to transfer her skills and knowledge on the topic in an interesting and straight forward manner.

 

Julie has been married to Brian Gilbertson for 31 years and has two children Bridget 18 and Harrison 15. Julie enjoys reading, swimming and yoga.
